Ballyloughan Castle
Ruins of a 13th century castle reside on farmland in the village of Ballyloughan. The County Carlow Coogan immigrants passed along to their children legends about the castle, for example, that its late-16th Century inhabitants told the royal authorities of a priest in hiding in the neighborhood. Long after the prist was captured and summarily hanged, an eerie sound could be heard of carriages racing through the halls of the castle.Ballyloughan Castle
