The young man pictured in this photo seems about 20 years younger than, but otherwise very similar to, the man in the Dublin photo that may be Bridget and Lawrence Meany, c. 1851.Why would Lawrence Meany from County West Meath travel to the city of Cork to have his photograph taken? Perhaps he was on holiday, or visiting friends or relatives who lived in Cork? Did the photographer Stevens draw subjects from all over Ireland?
